There is no “easy button” when it comes to building a successful online community. Communities are powerful, but they are built intentionally over time. At UNICEF, as we shared before on our blog, success has been measured over the years, not days or weeks, that it has taken to enact change.
UNICEF and I have partnered to create significant growth in their decade-old Yammer community. Over the past three years of our work together, engagement on Yammer has grown by 560 percent, from 1,000 to 6,000 active staff members. Under the leadership of UNICEF community manager Paola Storchi, Yammer thrives.
Now, Microsoft is acknowledging the significance of the UNICEF Yammer story: it’s featured as the subject of a Microsoft 365 brand voice article on Forbes. I am honored that our partnership with UNICEF is being shared, and I’m proud to be part of a strong team that will continue to increase the global impact of online communities as we mature further.
